Roughly a month ago I took a look at how things went in the online gambling world during the month of December. Several elite betting sites like Bovada, BetOnline and Bookmaker continued to impress, while others failed to deliver.
I really don’t mind giving sites a chance to redeem themselves, depending on what their issues are. However, I’ve been looking back at site speeds, promotions, versatility, customer service – you name it – and two things have stood out.
The best of the best rarely change and the worst sites tend to stay near the bottom.
A few sites have had some issues and have picked things up since I started tracking them, but now that 2017 is completely in the books, I want to stop wasting time on any gambling entities out there that have too much baggage to support anymore.
I won’t necessarily call those sites out here, but I’ve updated the list of sites I’ll be keeping tabs on and starting with a recap of January, it’s a list featuring zero sites in the danger zone.
With that, let’s take a look at how January went down in the online betting world by breaking down the top sites in terms of speed and payout performance:
BetOnline

BetOnline remains one of the best sportsbooks online right now. This continues to be one of the top sports betting sites in terms of early lines and prop bets and BetOnline also has a strong history of fast payouts.

As if versatile and competitive sports betting wasn’t reason enough to suck you in, 5Dimes is also known for elite customer service and reliable, speedy payouts. While largely known for their niche in the sports betting part of the online gambling world, 5Dimes ups the ante by also offering bingo, poker, casino games and live dealer games.

Not every site is as versatile when it comes to both betting options and withdrawal options, but Bovada crushes it in both regards.
The site had previously gotten rid of it’s poker room, but that is now back. Combined with their excellent customer service, promotions and fast payouts, this remains a top-5 gambling site.

Equipped with a nice $1,000 sign up bonus and a litany of promotions, My Bookie is without a doubt one of the better online gambling destinations. While MyBookie.ag is loaded with bonuses and promo offers, they also are highly versatile with their betting and they cast a wide net.
My Bookie is one of the very best spots for sports betting, as they have a laundry list of prop bets and futures, while also covering daily sports events. In addition, My Bookie covers all the bases by also offering a horse racing book and an underrated live casino.
Sportsbetting.ag

If you’re looking for an all encompassing site that has everything you want as a gambler, Sportsbetting.ag could be for you. Not every site offers both sports wagers and casino games, but Sportsbetting.ag does just that and they also do it all at a very high level.
ag feedback was fantastic in December, with really good speeds being reported. User word of mouth has cooled in January, however.
One user did speak up and vouch for the site when prompted by another user, reporting payment via BTC in a matter of hours “every time”.
Other users joined the praising of BTC payouts at Sportsbetting.ag, with the longest wait being just over 22 hours.
This echoes the positive feedback we got in December, when BitCoin delivered some big winnings in a speedy manner.
Users can also try checks and bank wires, but those normally take anywhere from 1-2 weeks.
BTC is the main option here and depending on the withdrawal size, users can safely expect to get their cash well within the site quote.
This site not only keeps your gambling experience all in one safe spot, but they also routinely get pointed out for fantastic customer service, unique prop bets and speedy payouts. It’s never easy to say any one site is “the best” at anything, but Sportsbetting.ag is undoubtedly one of the best “do it all” gambling sites you’ll find.
Started in 2003, Sportsbetting.ag also has a strong history behind it. Longevity combined with elite versatility continue to make this one of the best destinations for all online gaming.
GT Bets

GTbets is among the handful of sites we’ve really only been covering for about half a year now, but they’ve passed the eye test with flying colors to this point. This is another fairly young site that arrived in 2011, but has gotten the job done with solid bonuses, promotions and a nice variety of payment methods.
GTbets is best known as a fantastic sportsbook, but they are another site that is also known for their awesome casino games. This site does take a step back due to lame withdrawal fees, but it’s otherwise been one of the better performing gambling sites and also offers some very competitive lines when it comes to sports betting.
Ignition Casino
December Grade: B+ January Grade: B+
We have a few young gambling sites on this list, but Ignition Casino is easily the one that’s been around for the smallest amount of time. Don’t automatically assume it’s a site that isn’t impressive or one you can’t trust, however, as IC has actually quickly risen to prominence in the industry.
There is no denying this is a young gambling site that needs to prove itself, but thus far the feedback has been mostly positive. IC bares a resemblance to Bovada, while also providing users with everything a casino site should, from online poker tables to slots and more.
Ignition Casino has only been around since 2016, but this site proves itself worthy of your money with each passing month.
Topbet

Topbet has been accused of some sketchiness in the past, but all we can speak for is the site we’ve been tracking over the last several months. From what we can tell, Topbet has built itself up into a strong sportsbook since it’s arrival in 2011.
eu has certainly had some payout issues over the past few months, but last we checked in, they were at least pushing money out.
That’s the case again in January, as one user reported a wire payout that arrived in 12 days.
That isn’t blazing fast, but it’s better than no payout and it’s faster than what some users have had to deal with.
Topbet has slowly recovered from a huge backlog, with one user reporting after contact that the site is issuing a 20-day wait on payments and that past delayed payments have been processed.
It depends who you ask as to how to grade Topbet.eu right now. All we know for sure is their speeds aren’t elite and you might be in for a wait.
The good news is users are slowly getting their cash and the site itself is fantastic.
The unique prop bets probably separate TB from the rest of the pack, but this site also doubles as an online casino. The versatility is only propped up by the site’s awesome promotions and ability to issue payouts in a timely manner.
Topbet checks off all of the boxes for us and projects as one of the better overall gambling sites on this list.
Overall, the top dogs stand tall on our monthly gambling payout report. The sites with the best speeds and overall product are easy to see and most of the new additions for January are already elite or showing signs of promise.

The third week of the Overwatch League is over, and after a very dominant start from London Spitfire, Seoul Dynasty, and New York Excelsior, which hadn’t been beaten in their first two weeks, the rest of the teams have started to catch up and adapt to their strategies. As a result, during the third week of the Overwatch League, each of these three teams suffered their first defeat of the tournament. New York Excelsior lost against Philadelphia Fusion and London Spitfire lost against Boston Uprising, while Seoul Dynasty lost the battle of the giants against New York Excelsior. All of these matches were extremely close, ending with a 3-2 score.
Betting Tips and Predictions
With the next round of matches quickly approaching, here are the top predictions and the Overwatch teams you should be betting on for week 4:
Los Angeles Valiant (4W – 2L) vs. Philadelphia Fusion (4W – 2L)
Los Angeles Valiant has had a pretty good run so far, losing just two matches. These losses came against two of the strongest teams in the league (New York Excelsior and London Spitfire), and the second defeat was actually very close (score 2-3). Furthermore, the team’s victories against the lesser teams were pretty convincing.
So overall, they’ve predictably failed and succeeded based on the strength of their opponent, which makes them a great team to bet on. The only question is: are they weaker or stronger than their opponent (in this case, Philadelphia Fusion)? And to answer that question, let’s take a quick look at Philadelphia Fusion.
They’ve had 4 wins and 2 losses so far, just like Los Angeles Valiant. However, two of their victories came against very strong opponents (New York Excelsior [5W – 1L] and Huston Outlaws [4W – 2L]). This proves they have a high ceiling. And even though some of their wins against the lesser teams have been unconvincing, when they played against top opponents, they always delivered.
Philadelphia Fusion won their last two matches, and one of them was against New York Excelsior. So, team morale is definitely high, and they surely are on an upward trend. All of these things make them a perfect team to bet on, especially given the bookies’ assessment. Bovada puts the odds at -175/+120, or around 1.50/2.35 in Los Angeles Valiant’s favor. That assessment would be correct if you only looked at the overall statistics (Los Angeles Valiant has won more maps than Philadelphia Fusion so far). But if you put things in context and also take current team form into account, the assessment is automatically reversed.
Based on the two teams’ previous results, Philadelphia Fusion is extremely likely to win this dispute and produce an upset.
Los Angeles Gladiators (2W – 4L) vs. Florida Mayhem (1W – 5L)
This should be a relatively easy victory for Los Angeles Gladiators. Even though the win/loss ratio between the two teams is similar, a careful analysis of their performance throughout the tournament emphasizes a big strength difference between them. A bet on this match would definitely be worthwhile, as the likelihood of success is extremely high but the odds are still good enough to make a decent profit: -375/+230 or around 1.27/3.30 (source: Bovada) in Los Angeles Gladiators’ favor.
Houston Outlaws (4W – 2L) vs. San Francisco Shock (2W – 4L)
Houston Outlaws are likely to win this one without dropping a single map. Their last 3 matches ended with a 4-0 victory in their favor, so I’m not expecting them to lose against a much weaker team such as San Francisco Shock.
Philadelphia Fusion (4W – 2L) vs. Dallas Fuel (1W – 5L)
Philadelphia Fusion is the clear favorite for this dispute, and the chance of an upset is very low. In fact, Dallas Fuel isn’t likely to win more than 1 map.
New York Excelsior (5W – 1L) vs. Shanghai Dragons (0W – 6L)
This will be an entirely one-sided affair, with 4-0 for New York Excelsior almost for sure.
London Spitfire (5W – 1L) vs. Seoul Dynasty (5W – 1L)
Statistics slightly favor Seoul Dynasty for this match. In principle, they should be able to beat London Spitfire, considering the results from week 3.
San Francisco Shock (2W – 4L) vs. Florida Mayhem (1W – 5L)
These two teams are of roughly the same strength, so a bet on either of them might be risky. If you want to bet on this match, do it after the end of these teams’ first match scheduled for week 4. Florida Mayhem will be battling Los Angeles Gladiators, while San Francisco Shock will be fighting against Houston Outlaws. Based on those performances, you’ll have a better idea of who you should bet on.
Seoul Dynasty (5W – 1L) vs. Houston Outlaws (4W – 2L)
Seoul Dynasty is a considerably better team but is only slightly favored to win this match, due to Huston Outlaws’ recent form.
Los Angeles Gladiators (2W – 4L) vs. Boston Uprising (3W – 3L)
Boston Uprising is very likely to win this match. As their last two victories against London Spitfire and Dallas Fuel proved, they are at the top of their game right now and should have no problem crushing a significantly weaker team such as Los Angeles Gladiators.
Shanghai Dragons (0W – 6L) vs. London Spitfire (5W – 1L)
This will be another one-sided match, with the likelihood of an upset being below 1%. A 4-0 victory for London Spitfire is almost a certainty for this match.
Dallas Fuel (1W – 5L) vs. New York Excelsior (5W – 1L)
New York Excelsior should easily take this match, either 4-0 or 3-0.
Boston Uprising (3W – 3L) vs. Los Angeles Valiant (4W – 2L)
Based on the leaderboards statistics, Los Angeles Valiant is stronger. But the chance of an upset is quite high, due to the fact that Boston Uprising has a lot of momentum right now. They won both of their matches during the third week of the Overwatch League, and they clearly changed something about their playstyle. Defeating a team like London Spitfire is no easy feat.
This is the perfect type of match to bet on when using an esports betting strategy that relies on upsets. Most people will assume that Los Angeles Valiant is a much stronger team, not taking into account the shifts and changes that have taken place recently. As a result, betting on Boston Uprising will yield a much greater potential reward.
